Dr. Adam Burkey, M.D.

Dr. Burkey was raised outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Williams College and Georgetown University Medical School.

During medical school, Dr. Burkey was awarded a two-year fellowship by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute to conduct laboratory research on the neuroscientific mechanisms of pain. Adam completed his medical internship in New York City at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, followed by a three-year residency in Neurology at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Burkey then returned to Philadelphia where he pursued a fellowship in Pain Management at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Burkey simultaneously obtained a master’s degree in Epidemiology, measuring pain and neuropathy in cancer patients.

Dr. Burkey spent more than seven years at UPenn and then opened his own private practice in 2011. In 2015, Dr. Burkey moved to the State of Washington and is now the Managing Partner of Pain Care Physicians, PLLC and Medical Director of Anesis Spine & Pain Care. In addition, Dr. Burkey is the Vice-Chair of Pain & Palliative Care Section for the American Academy of Neurology, and on the Education Committee of the North American Neuromodulation Society. Dr. Burkey is a Scientific Advisor to the Mary E. Groff Charitable Trust, a private foundation focused on brain research, science, and education.

Dr. Burkey’s focus is to bring a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to the treatment of chronic pain that limits opioids and improves functional quality of life.

Dr. Ryan Burklund, M.D

Dr. Burklund grew up in Gilbert, Arizona, and currently resides in Spokane, Washington with his wife and four children. He attended Northern Arizona University for undergraduate studies in Biology and Chemistry and The University of Arizona College of Medicine. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Anesthesiology at Banner University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona.

Dr. Burklund completed a Pain Medicine fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire where he was trained in the most recent techniques in interventional pain management. He was also trained to utilize a multidisciplinary approach to personalized pain management in patients with a wide variety of pain syndromes. In addition, he is affiliated with the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Regional Anesthesia, Spine Intervention Society, American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and North American Neuromodulation Society. He is dual board-certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.

In his spare time, Dr. Burklund enjoys fly fishing, fine woodworking, playing sports, camping, and hiking.

Dr. Xi Chen, M.D.

Dr. Xi Chen received her medical degree from Norman Bethune University of Medical Sciences, China with Summa Cum Laude.  Later she completed her PhD at the Queen’s University UK and post-doctoral training at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, Boston. Dr. Chen focused on stem cell biology and gene therapy.

While working as an Anesthesiology resident at the University of Toledo Medical Center, Ohio, she developed a strong interest for pain management.  With this intention, she decided to dedicate her future career to this rapidly-growing field and completed a Pain Medicine Fellowship at the University of Washington, Seattle. Furthermore, she has published 10 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Amber Hanson, ARNP

Amber Hanson graduated from Gonzaga with a Masters of Science in Nursing in 2013.  Then, she worked as a Nurse Practitioner focusing on Nephrology until moving to Aneisis in July 2017.  She is also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

In her free time Amber enjoys biking, camping, skiing, scuba diving, world traveling, and most of all spending time with her rescued Siberian huskies Kenai and Lakota.

Brad Goldworm, PA

Brad Goldworm graduated from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC with a Bachelors in Health Science in December 2000. He entered Western University of Health Sciences in the Physician Assistant Program in July 2001 and graduated in August 2003. Brad has practiced in Washington since 2004 and joined Anesis Spine and Pain in January 2018. He has 5 years experience in contract work for various organizations including the Indian Health Service.

In his free time Brad enjoys fishing, hunting, and spending time with his wife Rhonda. His three boys are grown and living independently.

Zachary Kile, PA-C

Zachary Kile PA-C comes to us after 25 years of multispecialty surgical and Interventional pain experience as an independent practitioner. He traveled the country for 12 years working and assisting in surgery some of the most respected Surgeons in their fields from Orthopedics, Neuro, Cardiothoracic, General surgery and Trauma.

Zachary understands patient’s pain symptoms as he has had an injury that required a major lumbar surgery. He believes that patients can overcome their pain concerns and get back to living a productive and active life with simple interventional therapies.

In his spare time Zachary enjoys traveling, anything outdoors and spending time with friends.
